Initial research and existing ads

DAHE's former Meta ads typically showed 3-5 DAHE retail products against a simple background, either in a shopping basket or side by side (similar to some of the example images below). For our new set of ads, we wanted to simplify the design by highlighting 2-3 items instead. Reducing the number of products in the ad gave us more room to add new layers of visual interest through exploring pattern, type, layout, and illustration.

We wanted to make sure our DAHE ads didn't feel too similar to the look and feel of the Dunkin' rewards app. I conducted some visual research and compared the Dunkin' rewards UI against DAHE's rewards UI. I identified elements that made DAHE's UI unique, like the outlined illustration style, use of layering, and lighter tints of pink and orange.

Final designs

To create the final designs, we incorporated the lighter DAHE palette, used the icons as inspiration for subtle illustrative patterns, incorporated lifestyle photography, and brought in the circular container / sticker element to ground important visuals and text. We added more dimension to the product photography as well.

Holiday final designs

DAHE eventually asked our team to design two ads for their holiday launch as well. We combined elements from our initial set of ads with inspiration from their new holiday flavors and winter design elements.
