Salem State University Art + Design Viewbook

Rather than adhering to the university’s traditional branding and blue and orange color palette for this 31 page viewbook, I wanted to

take a different approach that would visually connect with incoming art students who value creativity. The photography available for

this project was from a photoshoot taken in 2000, so my largest task was finding a way to make these images feel relevant to current student offerings.

Through photography curation, a grid layout, duotone effects, and bold sans-serif typography, I created a cohesive and modern visual direction that incoming students can resonate with. By using a style that sets the art department apart from traditional Salem State marketing assets, I hope to inform and intrigue future art and design students in a new way.
